Shatavari

This species of asparagus, native from Africa through southern Asia to northern Australia, grows 1–2 m tall and prefers gravelly, rocky soils high up in piedmont plains, at 1,300–1,400 m elevation. Known as Shatavari, it is also recognized as an adaptogenic herb, which means it is used in traditional medicine to help the body resist physiological and psychological stress.
