Crab mentality

Often referred to as the crab-bucket effect, crab mentality is a type of mindset where individuals or groups, driven by jealousy or competition, attempt to undermine or belittle the success of their peers. The term is derived from the behavior of crabs in a bucket, where one tries to escape but is pulled down by the others, preventing any from escaping. This mentality is seen as a negative social phenomenon, hindering progress and success.
