Drone pilot
A professional responsible for operating and maintaining drones, planning flight paths, and collecting data, footage, and digital images. Drone pilots must hold a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certificate, also known as the Part 107 license, and have at least 40 hours of documented flying experience, which differentiates them from hobbyist drone users. This role primarily benefits industries such as agriculture, real estate, construction, and media, where aerial data and imagery are crucial.
