bhyve

Known as 'bee hive', bhyve is a type-2 hypervisor initially developed for FreeBSD. It's also compatible with several illumos based distributions such as SmartOS, OpenIndiana, and OmniOS. A macOS version, xhyve, is also available. First released in 2014, it continues to be a popular choice for virtualization tasks.
