WebAssembly

Often abbreviated as Wasm, WebAssembly is a binary instruction format designed for a stack-based virtual machine. It provides a portable binary-code format and a corresponding text format for executable programs. Additionally, it offers software interfaces that facilitate interactions between programs and their host environment. Developed by a consortium including W3C, Mozilla, Microsoft, Google, and Apple, it made its first appearance in March 2017.
