Dialectical behavior therapy

Therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the late 1980s, originally designed to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD). It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness, aiming to help patients cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships. DBT is beneficial for individuals with BPD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders, among other mental health conditions.
