Minipainting

This art form, known as minipainting, involves the intricate task of painting miniatures. Originating from early miniaturists who utilized watercolour and gouache on vellum or prepared paper, it has evolved over centuries. In the 17th century, the technique of painting miniatures in enamel on a metal surface was introduced in France, a method perfected by Jean Petitot. Today, it is recognized and displayed in renowned art museums worldwide.
