Inflammaging

This term refers to a chronic low-grade inflammation that develops with advanced age. It is characterized by an increase in the levels of pro-inflammatory markers in blood and tissues. Inflammaging is considered a significant risk factor for several diseases prevalent in elderly individuals, despite these diseases being pathophysiologically uncorrelated.
