Bacillus coagulans

This type of bacteria, previously known as Bacillus coagulans, forms lactic acid and is now classified under the genus Heyndrickxia. Not naturally occurring in the body, it functions as a probiotic, producing lactic acid in the gut. It is a member of the Bacilli class, the Bacillaceae family, and the Bacillota phylum.
