1. Semrush
Key Takeaway: Semrush stands out with its effortless setup, strategic insights, and superior sentiment analysis. Plus, workflow automations available in Semrush Enterprise make it easy to leverage AI when optimizing large sites for AI search.
Semrush also provides precise keyword tracking in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
The Semrush AI SEO Toolkit is priced at a reasonable $99 per month; keyword tracking is available as an additional service. Enterprise customers will need to reach out to the Semrush team to arrange a demo and a custom quote.
Semrush AI SEO Toolkit
The Semrush AI SEO Toolkit is a simple tool, focusing on reporting just the critical AI visibility and perception data that influence your decision-making.
Of all the tools that I tested, Semrush AI SEO Toolkit has the simplest setup process.
All it needs is your domain name to get started, and it quickly understands your market, positioning, relevant prompts, and audience personas on its own.
This tool consists of 3 main reports that reveal your AI search performance:
- Business landscape
- Brand & Marketing
- Audience & Content
The main dashboard is a quick snapshot of how you’re positioned in the AI search market relative to your competitors.
First, the dashboard highlights a few AI-generated strategic insights based on metrics like market share, sentiment, and engagement.
These metrics change depending on which LLM you’re analyzing. Switching your analysis to different LLMs is easy with the dropdown menu at the top.
The meat of this section is the market analysis visualization for your AI-related mentions. At a glance, you can see your share of AI mentions compared to your top competitors.
I love the added context in the chart that maps your market share against your brand portrayal in AI responses.
Ideally, you want to occupy a place near the top and to the right of this chart. In simple words, this just means you’re getting AI mentions more frequently with more positive sentiment than your competitors.
Get More Search Traffic
Use trending keywords to create content your audience craves.
At the bottom, you’ll find detailed AI insights based on your current standing. And honestly, these are extremely good.
I expected the suggestions would be generic and obvious (like some gimmicky implementations of AI often are). But these AI recommendations were highly personalized to the brand in question.
These recommendations expand into greater detail if you click through to the links to specific sections of the tool.
For instance, the “Business Landscape” report shows you the market share by AI platform for you and your competitors in a single convenient chart.
This is great for discovering opportunities specific to a particular LLM that might be more favorable to you than others.
My favorite data to see in this section is the historical trend for market share.
The goal is to maintain a rising trend of AI visibility share for your domain.
If you’re persistently dropping over time, it’s a strong sign that your content strategy isn’t aligned with AI expectations.
Semrush also outshines other tools for its AI sentiment analysis. The quality of insights is second to none.
The “Brand & Marketing” offers a summary of your key sentiment drivers.
This powerful intel highlights your strengths and weaknesses based on an analysis of AI responses that feature your brand.
Most tools I’m familiar with don’t offer any useful data about topics that AI users are discovering you through.
This makes me appreciate the “Audience & Content” report all the more because it displays the topic distribution of AI conversations linked to your brand beautifully.
Analyzing the topics your audience cares about is half the battle when it comes to optimizing your brand for LLM visibility.
You also need a clear understanding of the different query intents driving conversations around these topics.
Semrush makes this easy for you by offering a breakdown of representative query prompts people are using to discover you in LLMs.
It also shows you the intent distribution of these prompts.
I love how carefully designed all the individual sections in the Semrush AI SEO Toolkit are.
It’s free of any vanity metrics and focuses on highly actionable intel to help you maximize your AI search visibility and influence perception to your benefit.
This is also why Semrush is a powerful tool for AI-powered SEO as well.
The best part is that the Semrush AI SEO Toolkit is not that expensive compared to some other options. You can start with $99/mo.
Tip: Go further by adding the Semrush SEO toolkit, too. You can track your keyword rank across a variety of popular search engines — both traditional and AI-powered (like ChatGPT search and the AI Overview).
While the AI SEO Toolkit uses a large set of query prompts to analyze your visibility, the Position Tracking feature only uses the target keywords you’ve entered into it. You can even check a cached snapshot of the ChatGPT response where you received a citation or a mention. You'll want to purchase the Guru tier plan in order to get the most out of Semrush's AI search rank tracking tools.

Semrush Enterprise
Semrush Enterprise brings all of Semrush's best SEO features to large businesses with massive websites. The suite includes tools specific to AI search optimization, too.
The Semrush Enterprise AIO tool shows you:
- How your brand appears across nearly all search tools and platforms
- Whether Google's AI Mode is negatively impacting your visibility in organic search
- What AI search tools like SearchGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini are saying about your brand
- How big your share of voice is across different AI search tools
I really like that the AIO tool shows you specific information about brands and products, too. If your company has different subsidiaries, verticals, or product lines, you can really drill down into how each one is represented in AI search.
The AIO platform allows you to analyze your brand on all leading AI search tools, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Deepseek. This means that you can get accurate information about your brand's representation in AI search no matter which generative engine your audience prefers.
I also think it's important to point out that because this tool is part of the larger Semrush Enterprise platform, you get access to all of Semrush's best automation tools, too. You can use Semrush Enterprise to automatically:
- Analyze content
- Forecast the SEO value of your traffic
- Run A/B tests
These automations can save your team a lot of time when working on a site with thousands of pages.
2. Gumshoe AI
Key Takeaway: Gumshoe AI stands out with its streamlined approach and unique persona-based visibility tracking.
The Persona Visibility analysis and source identification features provide actionable insights for LLM optimization, though the page-level optimization tool is fairly basic.
Gumshoe AI is only available as a free trial at this time.
Gumshoe AI offers essential search tracking features like all the tools in this list. But it has a unique flow that I enjoyed for its streamlined character.
It also gives you audience persona insights, which is something that many AI monitoring tools currently lack.
Gumshoe’s visibility tracking is based on a set of representative prompts it uses to analyze your website.
It does a really good job of predicting prompts your audience might be using by going through a refinement process that involves:
- Selecting a product/service or area of focus for your business
- Discovering broad topics associated with the selected focus area
- Profile target personas relevant to your business
- Generate likely prompts that target personas are using to chat with AI models
- Find mentions in AI responses to the generated prompts
The use of prompts tailored for each of your different personas allows Gumshoe to develop a fairly accurate picture of your AI brand visibility.
I like how intentional and selective Gumshoe is with its data, focusing only on meaningful information with an intuitive presentation.
You can immediately learn how you’re positioned in your niche in terms of your mentions in AI models. The Leaderboard table summarizes this analysis nicely.
Want to Spy on Your Competition?
Explore competitors’ website traffic stats, discover growth points, and expand your market share.
The Persona Visibility analysis is my favorite, as I hinted earlier. It gives you a fantastic overview of how your visibility varies across different personas.
Along with personas, you’ll find great insights about topics that usually lead to an AI mention for your brand in the Topic Visibility section.
You’ll also get a clear idea about the top sources that are linked to your AI brand mentions. This is helpful for identifying domains you can partner with to generate even more mentions.
It can also reveal if certain categories of sites are over or underrepresented as sources in the AI responses associated with your brand.
While Gumshoe’s AI tracking reports are actionable and very much to my liking, I felt like the page-level insights features are a bit underdeveloped.
It’s similar to a simple content and technical site audit tools that give you a score based on how well you meet general checklist criteria.
The recommendations aren’t bad. But they’re limited to page structure, lacking more advanced semantic-level checks that are also crucial for LLM optimization.
Gumshoe is currently available as a free trial. I wasn’t able to find any info about paid plans yet.
3. ZipTie
Key Takeaway: ZipTie offers simple AI monitoring focused on core visibility and sentiment metrics across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.
The AI Success Score and intuitive breakdowns for each AI search engine make routine tracking effortless. And the flexible query-level filtering provides deeper insights when needed.
The tool excels at simplifying complex visibility data for practical decision-making, with plans starting at $99/month after a 14-day trial.
ZipTie is the perfect AI search monitoring tool if you want to focus on these 3 AI visibility aspects:
- AI mentions
- AI citations
- Sentiment
Initially, this tool only tracked Google AI Overviews. It’s now evolved to include ChatGPT and Perplexity search visibility as well.
ZipTie requires you to add relevant keyword queries to perform the AI visibility analysis for your brand.
The tool helps you out by suggesting queries to add. You can also connect your Search Console to add real queries that your site is receiving visibility for from Google.
I rate ZipTie highly for its refreshing simplicity. The main overview screen simply gives you an overall visibility score called the AI Success Score.
Additionally, it calculates individual scores for your citations, mentions, and sentiment to give you greater context.
Broad scores like these simplify tracking, especially for routine checks.
And if you need to go deeper, you can scroll down to find some helpful breakdowns.
Curious how strongly your AI Overview presence is contributing to your overall success score compared to Perplexity and ChatGPT?
The simple bar chart illustrates this intuitively.
I also like the AI Summary that reports improvements and declines in your AI visibility. It updates weekly as ZipTie rechecks AI search visibility for your queries.
My favorite ZipTie feature is the AI Overviews analysis.
It’s the perfect broad summary of your performance in Google AIOs.
Citations and mentions indicate your AIO presence.
And with the sentiment distribution graph, you’ll know if your AIO brand mentions appear in positive, neutral, or negative light.
It’s important to note that AI Overviews don’t appear for every query.
This fact is reflected in the AIO Generated graph, allowing you to see how often your tracked queries trigger an AIO at all.
ZipTie breaks down your Perplexity and ChatGPT visibility in a similar way:
Need to dive deeper and break out this visibility data on a query-by-query basis? The “Queries” section works great for taking a closer look at the performance of your tracked queries..
You can check whether any given query is producing responses that include your mention or citation in AIOs, Perplexity, or ChatGPT.
The filters are really good as well.
ZipTie makes it easy to filter the data by brand mentions or citations in any (or all) AI models and AIOs. You can also filter the table by the sentiment driving your mentions in the chosen AI models.
These different ways to slice and dice the data are very welcome because they greatly simplify your analysis and help save time.
ZipTie offers a 14-day free trial with paid plans starting from $99/month.
4. Trakkr
Key Takeaway: Trakkr shines the strongest in areas like prompt-level performance insights, sentiment analysis, and crawler analytics for those looking to dig deeper into AI search impact.
While prompt suggestions are fairly basic and even the highest plan limits you to 25 tracked prompts, Trakkr is a powerful tool for search monitoring across all major LLMs.
It also has a free version that you can try out and paid plans are priced lower than most alternatives, starting at $49/mo.
I have a lot of appreciation for Trakkr for going a bit further than many AI search monitoring tools.
First, let me highlight the positives.
Trakkr has a clean dashboard that shows you a few basic visibility stats, like your visibility score and a presence score.
These scores are fairly standard across good AI tracking tools.
But I like that it also highlights your average ranking and the raw count of your total detected AI mentions.
Plus, Trakkr monitors almost every major LLM out there, including:
- OpenAI
- Anthropic
- AI Overviews
- Perplexity
- Gemini
- Meta
- Grok
- Deepseek
In addition, the dashboard reports your top-performing prompts based on visibility scores.
This is a great feature to have because it tells you which topics are more likely to lead to your brand getting a mention in AI chats.
Another feature that caught my eye is the leaderboard-style competitor ranking table.
It’s a helpful way to see how many mentions you earned this week compared to your competitors for your set of tracked prompts.
While these features are welcome, they’re not why Trakkr stands out.
It’s the few other specialized reports that I’m particularly fond of.
In the Intelligence report, you’ll find a bunch of neat charts summarizing your AI performance trends for metrics like mention and ranking distribution.
There are enough ways to slice and dice data for competitor analysis to help you identify opportunities and gaps between you and your top competitors.
My favorite feature is the crawler analytics report. Here, you can find exactly which LLM crawlers are visiting which pages of your site.
With data about AI crawling behavior, you can make some smart decisions about ensuring your pages are perfectly optimized for AI crawlability.
In addition to this, Trakkr has a handy LLM Traffic report that shows a breakdown of your most referred pages by different AI models.
So you’ll know exactly which pages should be your top priorities when optimizing them for conversions and user intent.
Moving further, I noticed that the sentiment analysis is almost similar in quality to Semrush’s. It shows you how positively you’re perceived by different AI models.
Plus, you get a nice analysis about attributes where you’re seen favorably compared to your perceived weaknesses.
Like many tools on this list, Trakkr has a citations report that reveals the sources LLMs usually use when you’re mentioned during a chat.
I only have a few minor issues with Trakkr. The first is that it’s not very good at predicting the prompts that it should be tracking for you.
Most of the suggested prompts are quite obvious. So you’ll have to figure out the right prompts to track on your own.
That said, it’s great that Trakkr has a free version that you can try yourself. The paid plans start from $49/month, which is cheaper than most other options.
Unfortunately, you’re restricted to just 25 prompts even if you subscribe to the highest plan.
I really like Trakkr despite its limitations. I’m sure these will be addressed as the tool grows over time.
5. AthenaHQ
Key Takeaway: AthenaHQ is a comprehensive AI search monitoring tool that tracks brand mentions across major LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Perplexity).
It comes with useful features like Share of Voice metrics, prompt analytics, and gives you one of the best source domain tracking on the market.
The major drawback is the price point, starting at $270/month.
AthenaHQ covers all the important features you’d expect from a high-quality AI search monitoring tool.
On the main screen, it gives you key intel about your AI search performance.
This tool tracks your performance across most major LLMs, including:
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Gemini
- DeepSeek
- Perplexity
The Share of Voice metric is particularly helpful. At a glance, this will tell you how frequently AI tools mention you compared to other direct competitors.
If you’re dominating this chart, it’s a fantastic sign for your LLM optimization.
I also really like the Prompt Analytics report.
Here, you’ll learn how frequently you’re mentioned compared to competitors for a prompt and if the sentiment of the AI’s response is in your favor.
It also estimates the volume of the prompt. It only uses vague labels like “high”, “medium”, “low”, etc. for prompt volumes, but I still prefer having some indication of volume than none at all.
Most AI tools ground their responses on different sources when mentioning you in a response.
It’s great that AthenaHQ offers visibility into these source domains, which you can access in the “Sources” section.
I really appreciate that AthenHQ lets you filter this report by prompt types and date range. These simple features greatly enhance your ability to extract helpful insights about source domains that mention you.
You can use insights from this report to launch targeted PR campaigns and partner up with domains with the greatest influence on your AI mentions.
My experience using AthenaHQ was great. The UI is clean, and it’s a fairly intuitive tool to use, even if you’re new to AI visibility tools.
I can recommend AthenaHQ as one of the most useful tools for brands focused on LLM optimization and dominating presence in AI search.
Like most AI search monitoring tools, AthenaHQ is a little expensive, starting from $270/month.
6. Am I On AI
Key Takeaway: Am I On AI provides detailed ChatGPT monitoring, letting you track prompts with full AI responses. The source tracking is also decent for uncovering articles influencing your AI visibility.
While the setup is straightforward and the prompt-level data is thorough, the tool requires manual analysis since it doesn't convert some of its best data into filterable insights.
Am I On AI comes with a 14-day free trial you can use, with paid plans starting from $100/month.
Am I On AI gives you direct visibility into AI prompts and responses that mention your brand.
I found it really easy to get started with Am I On AI.
Enter your domain name, and the tool will generate a list of topics to build prompts from and monitor your AI rankings for in ChatGPT (this seems to be the only supported model right now).
It’s pretty accurate with suggestions for your topics based on your domain. You have the option of adding to or removing these suggested topics as well.
Am I On AI will then initiate a scan using 100+ relevant prompts for your brand and collect ChatGPT 4o responses.
This step is fairly slow. It took 4 hours for the scan to finish. That’s not very good for user experience.
But I suspect the long wait times might be because Am I On AI actually stores copies of entire ChatGPT responses.
The good thing is that Am I On AI will notify you via email when your report is ready.
The main dashboard gives you a simple AI visibility score, indicating the frequency of your AI mentions.
This is complemented by another chart tracking your visibility trend over time and competitor analysis illustrating the distribution of your brand mentions vs others.
This AI visibility data is simple and useful, but it’s also pretty standard among all AI brand monitoring tools worth your time.
The one feature where Am I On AI goes the extra mile and offers the most value is its prompt tracking.
You can find all the prompts Am I On AI is monitoring for you in the “Queries” section. Click on any prompt, and it will expand to reveal the ChatGPT response in full.
I like that it shows you a highlighted list of sources and the solutions/products/brands mentioned next to the full-text version of the prompt response.
While it’s great to have a collection of ChatGPT’s responses in your dashboard, it’s not practical to review each prompt and its response characteristics one by one.
I think Am I On AI missed an opportunity to generate insights beyond raw data.
I’d have loved to have prompts grouped by topics and charts that map your visibility against specific broad query themes.
I like the details you get with this tool’s source tracking feature.
Am I On AI lets you see which domains ChatGPT is citing when you get a direct brand mention in the response.
You can also find exact articles influencing your AI visibility.
If you need to find any trends about certain kinds of articles that are helping you appear in AI responses, this is where to look.
Again, the problem is that you’ll need to do it manually since Am I On AI doesn’t generate insights based on source domain data to help you discover patterns.
Plus, it lacks date range filters or the ability to sort source by prompt types like AthenaHQ offers.
There’s a 14-day free trial you can use, while paid plans start from $100/month.
FAQ
What’s The Best LLM Rank Tracker?
This isn’t an exhaustive list by any means. New AI tracking tools are launching rapidly, as this is still a developing industry.
But right now, the best tool for tracking LLM search results is Semrush. If you have a small website, the AI SEO Toolkit is a great place to start. And if you're an enterprise-level company, then you'll want to use the Semrush Enterprise platform.
Semrush Enterprise brings generative engine optimization (GEO) and SEO together to show you how your brand appears in AI search results, when and where you're mentioned, how your products are discussed, and which prompts are driving traffic to your business.
You can also set up AI-powered workflows that help you improve your content and listings, analyze impact, and build your brand reputation online. It's a really useful tool for large teams that want to analyze and improve their share of voice or search rank.
What's The Best Method to Track Share of Voice in AI Chatbots?
Semrush Enterprise AIO offers the best way to track your share of voice across all leading AI search tools and platforms. It includes support for:
- ChatGPT
- Perplexity
- Google Gemini
- Microsoft Copilot
- Claude
- DeepSeek
The Semrush Enterprise SEO and GEO tools also let you see the impact of AI search tools like AI Mode on your brand visibility, and you can track keywords across AI and traditional search engines, too.
How Can You Get Your Site Picked Up By AI Search Engines?
Many of the same best practices for SEO apply to GEO, too. You want to make sure that your site:
- Is structured well with easily crawlable pages
- Has an accurate sitemap in place
- Features informational content that adds value and provides clear answers to questions
But there are some differences, too:
- You should have a robots.txt file and an llms.txt file on your website
- There are different ways to structure your content to make it more appealing to LLMs
- You need to build your site to target prompts, not just individual keywords
It's a lot to learn and do, which is why I recommend the Semrush Enterprise tool to anyone who needs to optimize a lot of pages on a large site. The fact you can automate entire portions of the process makes things a lot easier to handle — and allows you to spend more time on the strategic business of running your company or managing your team.
If you're interested in learning more about how the Semrush Enterprise tool can help you track and improve your company's LLM rank or share of voice, just reach out to the Semrush team to schedule a demo.
