Matka gambling

Originating before the Partition of India, Matka gambling, or satta, is a type of betting and lottery system. It initially involved wagering on the opening and closing rates of cotton transmitted from the New York Cotton Exchange to the Bombay Cotton Exchange. This form of gambling is known as Ankada Jugar in its early days.
