This open-source software suite is utilized for electronic design automation (EDA). It enables the design and simulation of electronic hardware for PCB manufacturing. The suite provides an integrated environment for schematic capture, PCB layout, viewing manufacturing files, SPICE simulation via ngspice, and engineering calculations. It supports 39 languages and is compatible with Linux, macOS, and Windows. The software, written in C++, was first released in 1992, with the latest stable release being 8.0.1 as of March 13, 2024.
