Fodmaps

FODMAPs are a group of short-chain carbohydrates and sugar alcohols that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine. These include fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols, which can cause digestive discomfort in some individuals. The low-FODMAP diet is particularly beneficial for people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders.
